Purpose:
(1) Patent WO9915603 reports that a mixture of catechol derivatives and aromatic ethers can be used as a polymerization inhibitor for vinyl monomers.
(2) The journal Biochemical Pharmacology reports that 3,5-DTBC is used as an activator of the ryanodine receptor Ca2+release channel in mouse skeletal muscle. The ryanodine receptor is a Ca2+regulated Ca2+release channel in the sarcoplasmic reticulum of cardiomyocytes, playing an important role in the excitation contraction coupling of myocardial fibers.
(3) Patent JP 2002268211 reports that photosensitive substances containing polyphenolic components are used to manufacture corrosion-resistant patterns and printed circuit boards (PCBs). The introduction of polyphenolic substances improves the contrast and improves the rough edges of corrosion-resistant patterns.
(4) Used as an antioxidant.
