Purpose:
1. Can be used as an antioxidant: It is a very effective antioxidant for unstable organic liquids such as chlorinated hydrocarbons, oils, ethers, and aldehydes at concentrations of 0.01% to 1.0%. In some cases, the efficacy of TBHQ is stronger than that of hydroquinone.
TBHQ is a very effective inhibitor for the storage process of unsaturated polyester and other polymerizable organic compounds. Research has shown that under normal storage conditions, the polymerization inhibition effect of TBHQ is very effective;
3. Can be used as a stabilizer: At a concentration of 0.5%, TBHQ is a good photothermal stabilizer for pressure-sensitive adhesives produced from polyester. According to relevant reports, TBHQ, as a stabilizer, has better applications than other similar products.
